ICR Sunday School for Young Muslims

Introduction:

Welcome to ICR Sunday School, our vibrant Islamic Sunday school program. Every Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm, young minds gather to explore the richness of Islam, develop essential skills, and build a strong connection with their faith.

Program Overview:

1. Arabic Language and Quranic Recitation:

  • Little Stars (Ages 5-7): Our youngest learners explore the basics of Arabic through engaging stories, songs, and interactive activities. They learn about kindness, sharing, and the joy of prayer.

  • Rising Scholars (Ages 8-11): This group dives deeper into Arabic language and Quranic recitation. They also study the lives of prophets and delve into Islamic history. Practical skills like wudu and salah are reinforced.

  • Youth Ambassadors (Ages 12-17): Our older students engage in thoughtful discussions about contemporary issues, ethics, and social responsibility. They learn leadership skills and participate in community service projects.

2. Islamic Studies:

  • Level I (Foundations): Introduction to the five pillars of Islam, prophets’ stories, and basic ethics.

  • Level II (Explorers): In-depth study of Islamic history, jurisprudence, and contemporary issues.

  • Level III (Scholars): Analyze complex topics, engage in debates, and explore Islamic philosophy.

  • Level IV (Leadership): Develop leadership skills, community involvement, and mentorship.

3. Islamic Practices:

  • Level I (Novices): Learn wudu (ablution) and basic salah (prayer) movements.

  • Level II (Practitioners): Master proper salah techniques, memorize surahs, and understand their meanings.

  • Level III (Devotees): Explore additional prayers (sunnah, nafl), fasting, and charity.

  • Level IV (Guides): Mentor others, lead congregational prayers, and deepen spiritual practices.
